David and Louisa were married in Knox County, Ohio in 1843, but they lived in Allen County and their children were born there. Louisa died between 1867-1870. David married again in 1871 and died in Paulding County, Ohioin 1901. David and Louisa had a large family, including sons John, Williamand Daniel. William married Jane MILLER in 1874 in Allen County. It is possible that Jane and Polly Miller were related, but I can't prove this. Please feel free to contact me and we can compare notes. Thank you. You have made myday. I am certain that your Daniel is the youngest brother of John Spillman,my great-grandfather. I think since you have the picture of Uncle Mike(Milan went by Mike), and Aunt Elsie this proves our connection. Mike andElsie's last surviving daughter died two weeks ago. Milan was John's son, so he would have been a nephew of Daniel's. Thank you so much for Daniel's obituary. It does give us some information. We know, if the obituary is correct, that all of Daniel's brothers and sisters except one sister had died by April, 1929. I'll try to track down the one sister. It helps having her husband's name. Do you know anything about Daniel's second marriage? I found him and the children on the 1910 Ohio census, and hewas single according to that, so he must have married in 1910 or later. I have Daniel, aged 16, and sister Samantha aged 18, living with Davidand Barbara Spillman in Allen County, according to the 1880 Ohio census.Louisa Spillman died about 1867-1870, and David married Barbara Shively in 1871.I don't know when they moved to Paulding County, but John and his familymoved there in the mid 1880's.
