Found your website page, http://www.johnhoyt.com/h-linage/g156.html#I3130, and wondered if one of your William Sparling's might be the same Wiliam Sparling who was mentioned on page 15 in the book, "Windows On The Past, North Sydney, Nova Scotia", by Elva E. Jackson. I have attached an image of that book page for your reading. I am researching Jeremiah Desmond. He and this William Sparling, according to Jackson, were neighbors about the year 1838. I am interested to find any information that may glean some insight into the life of Jeremiah Desmond. Cheers

I can tell you that, according to the book index, an Anne Sparling (pg. 13), a Henry (pgs.158, 190), a Margaret (pg.13), a Peter (pg.13), Capt. Philip (pgs.13, 15, 42, 67,183), and your William (pg.15) appear. I have attached pgs. 42, 43 that I had previously scanned. For your reference, the book was published by LANCELOT PRESS, Windsor, Nova Scotia , 1974. The author, Elva E. Jackson, has copyright . But I think that if proper credit is given to her that it is permissible. Are you familiar with this book ? Mr. Carter, in you previous email, you mention that a Crawford family married into the Sparling family. I am told that Jeremiah Desmond, the neighbor to William Sparling, was a son of Thomas and Susan (nee Crawford) Desmond. Interesting...
