My wife has Hoyte ancestors, including both of the William Hoyte's mentioned on p280 of the 1 871 Hoyt book . Her great grandmother was Helen Jane Freeman (nee Hoyte b1850 Islington, London). Helen's par ents were William (the son) Hoyte (b c1820 Islington) and Jane Booth (b c1825 St Lukes, Londo n). William's father, his namesake (both Cow Keepers /Dairymen), was born in St Columb Minor , Cornwall in 1788 to George Hoyte (b1753) and Alice Glanvil. George's parents were George Ho yte (b1735) and Jean Edwards. His parents were another George Hoyte (b1689) and Jone Budge. W e believe this George is the son of Roger Hoyte who came from Somerset and settled in Cornwal l. We have not been able to confirm that any of these George Hoyte's lived to the age of 10 2 years.
