You have no idea how blessed I feel to have come acr oss it.Do you happen to have any pictures of the 55th Ohio, specifically CompanyB? John Jone s carried the Colors for the Regiment, so was in the frontlines. For HJ to have known what w as going on with him so well, HJ musthave been up there in front too. John was living in Fost oria at the timehe mustered in. Tiffin and Fostoria are very close in proximity….don’tknow i f they knew each other prior to their military service or not.Please let me know about the pi cs or any other tidbits that you have. Do you have a Zina Hoyt from Wood Co. Ohio in your f amily tree? Louisa Sage Maurer, mother of Elizabeth Maurer Fell was married to Zina for jus t a few years. I believe they were married in 1876 and by the 1880 census Louisa was living i n a boarding house making her living as a seamstress and Zina was disabled and living with hi s son. They were divorced, but I have searched both in Wood Co. and Hancock Co. for the divor ce records to no avail. I also have mystery for you. We got a email from a lady about her gra ndmother, Clara May Harrod, born in Ohio in 1873. She lived in a Methodist Children's home un til age seven when she was adopted by Thomas H. and Jane E. Harrod of Gratiot Co. Mi. Her dea th certificate lists Henry Fell as her father and mother as unknown. The Harrods lived jus t a few miles from the Fells and I think it's strange that Clara was adopted from Ohio and br ought to Gratiot Co. to live within a few miles of the man that is claimed to be her father . Pass this along and maybe someone else in the family has some ideas. Hope to hear from you

Hi John, I cannot assist Ginny in her search for info about Zina or Zena Hoyt, but I can correc t a few errors in your captions of the picture you attached...which is a great shot of my gra ndparents and great grandparents that I had not seen before. The corrections are these: The lady seated front left is not Elizabeth T. Mauer Fell. Elizabeth Mauer was Henry's firs t wife and she died on April 7, 1892 at age 45. The lady shown as my great grandmother in th e picture you sent is, in fact, Phebe (not Phoebe) E. Meracle Proctor Shaw Fell, Henry's seco nd wife. Secondly, the photo could not have been taken in 1934 because great grandfather died on Janua ry 24, 1932, at age 90. Hope you are well and that you are enjoying this global warming summer.
